We’re pleased to welcome new trialists Adam and Vik to Canon Camera Buzz; they have recently taken delivery of a Canon HG10 as well as a newly born baby boy named Django, so serious congratulations are in order!
They’ve posted an HG10 video of their newborn, with Adam glad that “there are no tapes to lose and this camera can cope with low light.” Adam also reports that he’s getting to grips with iMovie 08, finding the editing process to be speedy even though he’s normally only using one hand, as the other is bouncing his son up and down!
Vik has also posted a video, announcing “Django’s first commonpeople vlog, filmed at Simon’s one wintery afternoon… Awwww…” – though there may be a hint of jealousy as Vik claims Adam is the only one who gets to play with the HG10!
In other news Andy at Ingenuity Now has, after some delivery mix ups, purchased a HG10 and promises to write up his thoughts on the camera soon, although “Now all I really needed to do was convince my wife not to go into labor until Monday night at the earliest!”
What is it about new parents and HG10s?! Do you know of an HD vlogger as young as Django?

Great info for anyone using Mac 10.5 and Imovie 08.
If you cannot see your camera, could be as simple as clearing the P-Ram
Here are the steps
1. Close all programs
2. Restart the machine
3. When the screen goes black hold down the following keys at the same time
option/command/r/p
4. Wait for a tone, or chime let go and P-Ram is cleared!
Your Imovie 08 or Final Cut should see the camera just fine now.
Hope this helps!
Great thanks – there are quite a few people out there having issues with their Mac / HG10 combos so good to know
