Remember our Vimeo and YouTube friend Rico Bergholdt Hansen who made the best video ever of a windmill? He’s just uploaded a short test video to show what kind of angle you can get using different lenses on the HG10. Starting with the HG10 on it’s own fully zoomed out, Rico then shows what kind of shot a Kenko wide 0.5x lens would bring, followed by a Lomography Fisheye Super Wide lens, which, like all Fisheye lens in general, make me wonder how anyone would know what a Frog’s POV looks like.
Rico explains that the Kenko lens is quite cheap and a bit wider than the Canon WD-H43, but it does have soft edges. He’s not sure if the Canon lens is sharper, but a comment from w.pasman states that “The canon only has a slight barrel distortion”. Rico continues by saying that the Lomography Fisheye is a fun, very wide lens.
He signs off by cautioning that you may need to buy a step-up or step-down ring depending on the lens thread, and that “I use a 43mm/37mm step-down ring for the Kenko and a 43mm/55mm step-up ring for the Lomography fisheye.”
Head on over for the video, and let Rico know if you have any questions or comments.
